THE  BIG JAMBOREE

THE BIG JAMBOREE FROM SPAIN !

JUMP ! AND DANCE ALL  NIGHT  LONG !

More than 20 years ago, five young guys started to play their favourite jive songs under the name of Chevy & the Hot Wheels. After years of gigs, and with a whole crew of musicians, they changed their name to The Big Jamboree. M. Angel Garcia, ex-lead singer of the successful rockabilly band -The Nu Niles- joined the band in the late 90's. He was the voice on the Big Jamboree's first album -New Times Old Stuff-. However, from 2007 it's Agusti Burriel who works as frontman on the band. He's a versatile singer who also plays in jazz, doowop and rock'n'roll bands.

They have played on the hugest rock'n'roll, jazz and blues international festivals (Screamin' Festival, Hemsby, Rhythm'n Riot, Blues at Moonlight...) apart from being the usual suspects on the greatest music clubs in the Catalan scene, and special guests on some of the prime-time TV shows in Spain. They have shared stage with music celebrities like Carl Perkins, Koko Taylor or Gary U.S. Bonds, and they have even been the backing band for rock'n'roll stars like Lloyd Price, Barrence Whitfield, Hayden Thompson or Dale Hawkins.

So, The Big Jamboree is not just a 40's & 50's rythm & blues, swing and jump'n jive band, but an exciting show with nine musicians: drums, bass, guitar, piano, alt sax, tenor sax, baritone sax, trumpet and voice.  Their repertoir is full of great bluesy original songs, cool arrengements and the finest 50's-flavoured covers. Do you remember Louis Jordan, Wynonie Harris, Joe Turner or Louis Prima? The key, however, is the friendly atmosphere that fills the stage, where the musical quality is mixed with the coolest fun. That's why they are THE BIG JAMBOREE.
